Jewellery Care
THE ART OF CARE & LONGEVITY
Our pieces are handcrafted using old-world techniques, imbued with contemporary innovations. We build them to last, but like anything of value, they flourish with the right attention. We hope these pieces become a part of your identity—evolving, transforming, and eventually being passed down as a symbol of who you are.
To ensure your jewelry journeys with you for a lifetime, we’ve gathered these mindful practices for their care.
SILVER
Silver is a responsive metal; it reacts to your skin and the world around it.
- Wear it often: Your skin’s natural oils help prevent dullness.
- The nature of tarnish: Tarnish is natural. Use the polishing cloth to restore brilliance, or allow recessed areas to darken for added depth and character.
- Deep cleaning: For heavier oxidation, seek professional cleaning. Avoid harsh DIY chemicals. If unsure, contact us for guidance.
18K GOLD VERMEIL
Crafted with a substantial layer of 18k gold over a solid sterling silver core. It is a premium finish, but not invincible.
- Mindful rituals: Apply perfumes, lotions, and sanitizers before putting on your jewelry.
- The life cycle: No plating lasts forever. Over time, the gold may soften and reveal hints of the silver beneath.
- A fresh start: We offer a re-plating service. Email team@graedance.com to refresh your piece.
SILVER PLATED
Designed for a striking, high-shine finish. As the silver is layered over a base metal, it requires a gentle touch.
- Moisture control: Avoid showering, swimming, or workouts while wearing. Moisture accelerates wear.
- The gentle buff: Wipe with a soft, dry microfiber cloth only. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Honest aging: Plating may thin in high-friction areas. Contact us about re-plating if desired.
RHODIUM PLATED
Rhodium provides a bright, mirror-like luster and added scratch resistance.
- Keep it dry: Store in the original box and avoid humidity.
- Gentle care: Lightly buff with a jewelry cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners.
GEMSTONES
Every stone carries its own inclusions and personality. No two are identical.
- Setting security: Do not use ultrasonic cleaners. High-frequency vibration can loosen settings or fracture stones.
- Thermal shock: Avoid extreme temperature changes, which may cause cracking.
